Code of Conduct for CAEC Candidates

TVO is committed to treating all CAEC candidates with respect and dignity. In return, students are required to show respect for TVO.

Candidates will:

  • respect all staff
  • follow rules and policies
  • show respect for fellow candidates
  • show respect for property
  • obey the law

Consequences for inappropriate conduct:

Candidates shall be withdrawn from the test or have enrollment with CAEC terminated for:

  • violation of the Code of Conduct
  • misuse of information technology
  • violation of academic integrity

Violation of the TVO Code of Conduct may include:

  • persistent opposition to staff
  • failure to obey CAEC rules and abide by TVO policies
  • willful destruction of property, vandalism or theft
  • conduct injurious to the moral tone of the testing environment
  • conduct injurious to the physical or mental well-being of others
  • misuse of information technology
  • violation of academic integrity

Misuse of technology may include:

  • unlawful or unauthorized entry, or attempt of such entry, into any network system
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to data
  • creation and/or willful transmission of computer viruses or virus hoaxes
  • transmitting threatening or obscene, hateful, racist, and/or discriminatory material
  • creating or contributing to a situation where harm or damage occurs to others, or to data or equipment as a result of misuse

Violation of academic integrity may include:

  • cheating on an examination
  • submitting false or fraudulent assignments or credentials
  • falsifying records, transcripts, or other academic documents
  • impersonating a candidate at an examination, or availing oneself, or attempting to avail oneself, of such impersonation
  • aiding or abetting another person in academic dishonesty
