Unless you have received approval for a test accommodation, no other materials can be used during your CAEC test.

How can I request accommodations?

Candidates who require accommodations should follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your CAEC Portal
  2. Visit “Accommodations Request” in the left navigation menu
  3. Click “Request Accommodation”
  4. Upload your supporting documentation and add any additional comments
  5. Click “Confirm” to submit your accommodations request

Our CAEC team will review your request and determine which accommodations can be provided based on the submitted documentation.

Note: You will only be able to schedule your test once your accommodation request has been reviewed by a CAEC team member.

What documentation do I need for accommodations?

To review accommodation requests for CAEC tests, our CAEC team will only consider the following supporting documentation:

  1. Individual Education Plan (IEP) or psycho-educational report

An Individualized Education Plan (IEP), provided by an Ontario school, or psycho-educational reports identify your specific learning needs and outline the accommodations needed for Test writing.

  2. Letters/reports from qualified professionals

If you do not have an IEP or a psycho-educational report, you must support your request with documentation related to your learning needs from a qualified professional. This person cannot be a relative.

    A qualified professional
    • may be a psychologist, psychiatrist, or other medical practitioner such as a doctor or therapist
    • must have expertise in diagnosing the condition(s) related to the accommodation(s) you are requesting

    Supporting documentation must include:
    • the qualified professional's contact information on official letterhead, dated and signed
    • a detailed description of the learning/medical/health needs and their impact on the final test
    • timelines for rehabilitation/recovery for temporary health conditions
