Unless you have received approval for a test accommodation, no other materials can be used during your CAEC test.
Candidates who require accommodations should follow these steps:
Our CAEC team will review your request and determine which accommodations can be provided based on the submitted documentation.
Note: You will only be able to schedule your test once your accommodation request has been reviewed by a CAEC team member.
To review accommodation requests for CAEC tests, our CAEC team will only consider the following supporting documentation:
An Individualized Education Plan (IEP), provided by an Ontario school, or psycho-educational reports identify your specific learning needs and outline the accommodations needed for Test writing.
If you do not have an IEP or a psycho-educational report, you must support your request with documentation related to your learning needs from a qualified professional. This person cannot be a relative.
A qualified professional
• may be a psychologist, psychiatrist, or other medical practitioner such as a doctor or therapist
• must have expertise in diagnosing the condition(s) related to the accommodation(s) you are requesting
Supporting documentation must include:
• the qualified professional's contact information on official letterhead, dated and signed
• a detailed description of the learning/medical/health needs and their impact on the final test
• timelines for rehabilitation/recovery for temporary health conditions
