Supporting Documentation for Registration
Ontario Residency
You must provide 1 of the following documents
Ontario Photo ID Card
Requirements
- Must include your picture and full name
- Must include your Ontario address as listed on your application
- Must not be expired
- Must include your date of birth

An Ontario Health Card is not an accepted proof of Ontario Residency
Lease/Rental Agreements
Requirements
- Should be your current lease/rental agreement
- Must include your full name
- Must include your Ontario address as listed on your application
- Must include your signature and date of signature
- Must include a date for start of lease agreement
How to get it
If you are a tenant in an Ontario rental property, you may have your lease/rental agreement in your emails from when you first signed it. If not, you may wish to contact your landlord or property manager for a copy.
Bank Statement
Requirements
- Must include your full name
- Must include your Ontario address as listed on your application
- Must include date of statement
- Must be dated within last three months
How to get it
You may be able to export or a print a bank statement from your online banking website or app. You may also be able to request a printed statement from a teller in a physical bank location.
Utility Bill
Requirements
- Must be a hydro, water, or gas utility bill
- Must include your full name
- Must include your address as listed on your application
- Must include date of statement
- Must be dated within last three months
How to get it
Check your mail for utility bills sent physically to your home, or your inbox for digital versions emailed to you directly. You may also be able to export or a print a bill from your online utility account.
Ontario Driver's License
Requirements
- Must include your picture and your full name
- Must include your Ontario address as listed on your application
- Must not be expired
- Must include your date of birth

Canadian Status

Requirements
- You must submit a picture or photo
- Must include your full name
- Must include your date of birth

Indian Status Card

Requirements
- Must include full name

- Must include issue date and expiry date

We only accept the “Notice of Decision” as supporting documentation for ILC applications. We do not accept the Refugee Protection Claimant Document itself.

Transcript
Requirements
- Must be provided if applicant is 14-20 years old
- Must be most recent transcript
- Must include all pages of transcript
How to get it
Contact the last school you attended to request a transcript. All secondary schools in Ontario keep student transcripts for 55 years.
Please note
If your transcript is from a school outside of Canada, you will be required to submit a certified evaluation of your transcript(s) before requesting a Diploma Pathway Assessment. You can obtain an assessment through World Education Services (WES) or International Credential assessment Service of Canada (ICAS). Note that there is a fee for this certification.
Out of School Proof / Date of Leaving Letter
Requirements
- Must be provided if applicant is 18-19 years old
- Must include student name
- Must include date student left school
How to get it
Contact the last school you attended to request the date of leaving letter.
Homeschool Letter
Requirements
- Must be provided if applicant is under 18 years of age
- Must be provided by your local school board
- Must be printed on school board letterhead
- Must include date letter was issued
- Must include students’ name and date of birth
- Must include academic year student is excused from
- Must include printed name and signature of school official of your local school board
- Must include contact information of school official of your local school board
